a french-language animated cyberpunk/science fiction detective film, co-produced in three countries including france and the uk, renaissance used the motion capture technique to create a 3D universe. a definite cult hit, its quirkyness came from the fact it is entirely black and white (except a few elements in color at the end of the movie). very much 'sin city' inspired, this movie was such a cool ride from the beginning to the end. i thoroughly enjoyed this and would vote this as the best and coolest movie i have seen in the v.i.f.f.'s showcase of films. a definite must-own in your library collection of dvds, esp. if you already own such movies like donnie darko and fargo ... and of course sin city.

probably another top ranking movie that makes me want to revisit it again and again, despite the fact that it really made me squirm for john malkovich's character, alan conway. a true...ish story about a man who didn't look anything like him, nor knew anything about his work, and posed as director stanley kubrick during the production of kubrick's last film, eyes wide shut. three words :

drool
entertaining
outright funny

that was, btw, one of the best parts in the movie. that and the bar scene.

she's back! she's back! she's finally back from korea! i still can't believe that, instead of sending her little hug emoticons, i can actually HUG her! she's back! she's back!

so to celebrate, we had noodles at where else the sha-lin noodle house and then we headed to bestbuy...we didn't find what we were looking for, but we found what we weren't looking for ... a barrel of laughs! how much fun can two girls, giddy and high on noodles, conjure up with the builtin camera on a mac powerbook?

oodles!
noodles!
