february has been short but fast paced. in a wink of an eye, we started february and ended february. how did that happen? well but in the meantime, the business is getting more and more momentum. i shot my first fourteen hour wedding on saturday the twenty-fifth and while i can safely say that it was an wedding surrounded by much love and anticipation, it was also a wedding that wasn't organised to the 't'. definitely the big factor was that this wedding was planned in two months, not two years. in any case, the experience was well appreciated, and it took me about a day and a half to have my feet bounce back to the state prior to the wedding...well rested!

for those who are dying to see pics, you'll have to wait to see the bulk of them when my website is up and running (yes! i am designing and programming my own web site!). but here's a prevee:

she looked exactly the same as i had remembered her six years ago. tania with the same black curly hair, the same sideways smile and the same nod that she gives in quiet approval of everything around her. back from kyoto, japan for yet another visit to her home city (third one in a year), one senses that she is, again, restless. even as we sat in the quiet sanctuary of sam's one bedroom apartment overlooking the burrard street bridge, she stirs as we chat about babies, moving, and living arrangements in kyoto. in a few moments she will leave on another trek across the bridge to her apartment in coal harbour. and who knows when i'll see her again? perhaps in a year...perhaps five...perhaps never. but i know that if or if not, she'll still be the same tania alessandriani.

yes! i'm up for air!
no doubt the gilmore girls have kidnapped me, but luckily it is all in the privacy and comfort of my own home. true, the weather's been nice, the sun's been shining, but terms of entrapment dictate that i am confined to the basic necessities of my bed, my bathroom, and takeout food.

when the ransom is met (when i reach disc numbero six of season numbero five), perhaps then i shall smell the freedom of sunshine, below zero temperatures and oh yes, the mindless and senseless wandering around of cityfolk trying to find something fun and entertaining to occupy their joyless life with.

in the meantime, i have the gilmore girls. or rather, they have me.

yes, i'm shameless in my enjoyment of the gilmore girls. after many a year of wondering what it is about a young mother and her daughter growing up in a small town ... i finally get it. cool (and completely unattainable) mother-daughter relationship. only a rebellious asian girl growing up with a conservative mother would understand. in any case, tonight, my gilmore-fascination coupled with the adrenaline rush of a thirty-second bidding war to make me completely and utterly happy. a happiness that can only be seconded to the reception of the said my-internet-connection-is-faster-than-yours won goods. aaaah, the onset of technology. who doesn't love it?
